The Thanksgiving Project - The Scary Mommy

Scary Mommy Nation

This past year and a half has been a difficult one for us. My husband had back surgery while I was 6 months pregnant with Aria. She is almost 14 months old now. He was not able to return to his job because it was a work related injury, and it was severe. He went through 9 months of ups and downs and countless hospital and physical therapy visits. Since his job was considered extremely heavy, he now has to go through retraining. He started school recently and the program will take him 7 months. On top of the stress and pain, we received a huge salary cut. It has greatly affected our lives. We just do not have enough money. If we did not have family, I really do not think that we would be where we are today. Inf act, I am sure we would have lost our home! We are surviving!

Some families are not so luck though.  Click the image below and read about The Scary Mommys Thanksgiving Project!

It feels so close to home to me. I'm so grateful for my family. They help us
The Scary Mommy Thanksgiving Project gives these mothers and their families an evening of food, love and warmth, without the stress and worry they battle the rest of the year.

The Thanksgiving Project was born out of a blog post in 2011, and now an official 501(c)3 non-profit, the project has helped over 1,700 families to date celebrate a Thanksgiving they wouldn’t otherwise have had.

Scary Mommy is all about honesty and no shame parenting and there is absolutely no shame in needing a hand this year. You are far from alone, and this community wants to help you. Let us. - The Scary Mommy
